Helping to Prevent Acne

acnenomorePreventing outbreaks of acne in the first place is better than having to treat them. To prevent acne happening in the first instance, it is necessary to look at the triggers for outbreaks. These can be factors such as such as stress, allergy, hormonal changes, poor hygiene, poor nutrition and wearing cosmetics. Vigorous scrubbing of the skin can also make the acne worse. It’s also advisable to reduce consumption of junk food and other foods which are rich in fats. Foods such as chocolate, creamy foods, hamburgers, and french fries are rich in fats. Green vegetables, fruit, and vegetables such as leafy vegetables and carrots are also believed to be beneficial for the skin as they are rich in beta carotene plus vitamin A.

You can do quite a few things to help yourself to avoid acne outbreaks. Prevention has several aspects, from the things you can do on a daily basis to the skin treatments and products which you can buy. Skin cleansing is done to take away the excess oils which are manufactured by the skin. This is better than scrubbing the skin. Physically scrubbing the surface of the skin will have the effect of forcing the excess oil and dead skin cells back into the skin pores. There are many products that can clean the skin, but don’t buy ones which will dry out your skin. The skin has to retain moisture and if it becomes dry, the pores can produce more oil, making things worse. It’s extremely important to avoid squeezing or scraping at the acne. Picking at the acne or squeezing it can give rise to worse problems. When you do so, you are spreading bacteria across the skin of the adjacent areas and this could also lead to permanent scar formation.

Try to use products which are described as non-comedogenic (this means that they won’t block your skin’s pores) if you use suntan creams and lotions or cosmetics. Try not to use moisturizer on the areas of your skin that are affected by acne. If you must use a moisturizer, make sure that it is not acnegenic. Use of topical treatments such as medicated spray on the areas of skin where you get acne can also help. When it comes to washing, it’s good practice to wash the skin only gently using a cleansing product or a mild soap. During washing, be sure to use warm water (not hot water) and wash twice a day.

Cystic acne tips – how to get rid of acne

acnenomore

To get rid of cystic acne I would find a good skin care regimen.  Use a gentle cleanser and only wash your face twice a day.  Make sure that the make-up you are using is of good quality and doesn’t clog pores. Sometimes the make-up you use can make your skin worse. Use only loose powder and a cover up for bad cystic acne. Make sure you’re not allergic to your makeup and all the chemicals in them will make your acne condition worse. Also, make sure you don’t use moisturizer, even a little, because that can really mess your skin up. If you are using heavier make-up then you need to make sure you use a make-up remover that will not hurt your skin and get all of it off at night.  Try not to touch your face.

Get some of the blotting papers to help you with oil during the day. Drink lots of water – at least 8 glasses a day!  Water will help to clean the purities out of your body and will help to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.  Eat healthy foods to also keep those impurities from building up in your body. No, the food you eat won’t give you cystic acne – but the foods you don’t eat could.

“Healthy inside, healthy outside.”  Get into some sort of exercise – riding bikes, roller blades, or a sport in school.  It will give you a way to get rid of stress (which can make your cystic acne worse) and will help you to stay healthy.

Everything that touches your face should be clean. Check out the detergent you purchase, use one for sensitive skin.  Make sure your shampoo and conditioner are gentle – nothing too scented. Ask your dermatologist for some kind of prescription. Keep in mind that if you go on any prescription, your cystic acne is most likely going to get worse before it gets better.  Don’t give up with it. If your dermatologist isn’t going your way you should see if you could switch him.

Acne Treatment – Dry Out!

acnenomoreDesperate time’s calls for desperate measures and same can be said about drying out your acne. It is the common practice of people who are suffering from acne. People try to dry out their acne when they are really desperate to get rid of it. It’s not like that it doesn’t work, because it does. But going to such measure just doesn’t seem right in any case. There are many ways of drying out the acne and some of them are discussed below.

A Non-Gel tooth paste is used quiet often to dry the excess oil underneath the follicle. A small dab should be applied on the area before you go to sleep at night. Wash it in the morning and you will feel the difference. The toothpaste acts as a sponge to suck out all the oil in the affected area and the oil trapped in the pores.

Baking soda is another way of drying out acne. Make a paste by mixing the baking soda with water and rub it gently. Let it dry and keep it applied for 15 minutes, after that wash it warm water. Do this several times a week. This will help the skin to remain clear whilst supporting the natural radiance of the skin.

Alcohol is another way to dry out the acne. Apply it in the same way as the baking soda mixture. You will feel the reduction in acne just in a matter of minutes.

Always apply a mild moisturizer after trying anything mentioned above. The above mentioned tips can leave your skin too dry and this will trigger the production of more sebum oil to moisturize the skin. So it will be good for your skin if you apply a mild moisturizer.

Drying out your acne is not the only way to deal with acne. So keep in mind the effects of such method and use it as a last resort. These tips are beneficial but only when used effectively and with proper precaution.
